Dealing with Dental Anxiety a Clients Experience
Andrew came to see me because had had serious issues with his teeth and needed treatment urgently including an extraction, the dentist he consulted had refused to treat him because he had such a bad phobia.
In desperation Andrew made an appointment to see a
Basically every time the dentist came anywhere near his mouth Andrew completely lost it and had to abort the appointment.
We worked together for three hour long sessions and Andrew felt much more confident as he left to go and have his first dental treatment but at this stage he still had no evidence that he would feel much different.
I got a phone call after the first appointment to say he had felt completely relaxed and calm, the dentist had been happy to proceed and Andrew had his extraction with nothing other than a local anaesthetic, so he was fully awake and aware during the procedure. He described feeling completely different, simply relaxed, confident and calm. The following appointments were all similar and where before no dentist had been able to get anywhere near Andrews mouth the appointments passed by without incident and with the patient completely calm and in control.
So impressed was the dentist in the change in his patient that he has asked for my details to refer others. Of Andrews story helps even one person who has a similar fear or any other then telling his story will have been worthwhile.
In honestly Andrews story is not surprising to me because I see great results like this almost on a daily basis, I have dealt with many people with a similar fear of the dentist. It is not just dental fears though people with fears and phobias of all kinds can find great benefit from seeking help.
I hope telling Andrews story as he asked me to will encourage you to pick up the phone if you need help.
